One night, as she was hanging out with her family and her boyfriend, Leonard E. Moore, Amanda suddenly felt ill and blacked out.

When Amanda regained consciousness, her boyfriend rushed her to the emergency room. Once she arrived, the hospital decided to admit the 1000-lb Sisters star. Amanda spent three full days at the hospital. “I am finally home after a three-stay I the hospital,” wrote Amanda. “For now we wait for a diagnosis and treatment plan.” The 1000-lb Sisters star used the moment to encourage people to take care of their health by getting regular checkups.

Amanda didn’t always struggle with her weight. While the 1000-lb Sisters star was growing up, she was always quite thin. Like many women, she didn’t start gaining weight until after she got married and had children. Amanda’s first bariatric surgery took place in 2017, after which she lost a lot of weight. Amanda recently posted flashback photos taken after her first surgery. She shared a split screen that illustrates her dramatic results. Though her results were amazing, she went on to put the weight back on.

Though Amanda’s transformation has been far from perfect, she finally has the life she was working for.

It’s not uncommon for people to need revision bariatric surgery, but the procedure is more dangerous the second time around. Still, Amanda was determined, and in March 2023, she went in for a revision surgery with a different doctor. Though she initially lost weight, Amanda suffered a setback about a year later. During 1000-lb Sisters season 6, Amanda saw the doctor for a weigh-in, where she learned shewent from 299 pounds to 268 pounds. She was devastated to learn that she had only lost 31 pounds, and it was due to a knee injury.

Though Amanda was devastated to learn that she hadn’t lost as much weight as she expected to, she didn’t let it keep her down for long. Since then, the 1000-lb Sistersseason 6 star is back on track, pursuing her health and fitness goals. She recently posted an Instagram photo of herself at a nail salon, and Amanda looks much thinner than before. The 1000-lb Sisters star has completely changed her life over the last few years.
