Will Trent Scores Early Season 3 Renewal at ABC

ABC has officially renewed Will Trent for a third season, marking an early renewal for the series which has only aired five episodes of its second season so far. The decision comes as the show has continued to attract strong viewership, with its recent episodes achieving the highest ratings in the series’ history. Over 9 million viewers tuned in across various platforms in the first seven days of the recent episodes, underscoring the show’s growing popularity and solidifying its place on the network.

 

This early renewal aligns with ABC’s recent pattern of confirming the future of its successful shows, following similar announcements for Grey’s Anatomy (Season 21) and 9-1-1 (Season 8). Will Trent, developed by Liz Heldens and Daniel Thomsen, is based on the novels by Karin Slaughter, who also serves as an executive producer. Oly Obst and series star Ramón Rodríguez are also executive producers. The series is produced by 20th Television.
