What to Know About Season 2 of Justin Hartley’s Hit Show ‘Tracker’: Sofia Pernas Returns and More
Fans of Justin Hartley’s hit CBS series Tracker didn’t have to wait too long for a second season.
The series, based on Jeffery Deaver’s novel The Never Game, premiered in February after Super Bowl LVIII and was an instant hit. Viewers settled into their seats each week to watch their favorite fictional survivor, aka Colter (Hartley), travel across the country to help solve missing persons cases, track down information on criminal cases, and more.
Tracker initially attracted fans because of the show’s premise and the variety of mysteries Colter had to solve. Season 1 only got more interesting when guest stars like Hartley’s real-life wife, Sofia Pernas, Melissa Roxburgh, and Jensen Ackles joined the cast. Hartley even got to reunite with not one—but two!—of his former This Is Us co-stars: Jon Huertas and Jennifer Morrison.
Following the show’s first season finale, viewership numbers confirmed that Tracker was the most-watched series of the 2023-24 television season. This doesn’t come as a surprise to CBS, though, as they’ve already renewed Tracker for a second season.
Of course, Hartley is expected to return as Colter, who relies on a number of people including Teddi (Robin Weigert), Velma (Abby McEnany), Bobby (Eric Graise), and Reenie (Fiona Rene) to help him solve his cases. The show’s star—who also serves as an executive producer on the project—confirmed that Ackles will return as Colter’s brother Russell, while Roxburgh will reprise his role as Colter’s sister Dory.
The season 1 finale introduced Colter’s childhood friend Lizzy (Morrison), opening the door for more Morrison appearances in the future. Viewers can also expect more flashbacks centered around the Shaw family, as Colter has only just begun to delve into his late father’s past.
