‘Tracker’: Do Colter and Billie Have a Future? Sofia Pernas Weighs In

[Warning: The following contains major spoilers for Tracker Season 1 Episode 6 “Lexington.”] Colter (Justin Hartley) crosses paths with his rival, Billie (Sofia Pernas, also Hartley’s wife) in the latest Tracker, and they definitely spark—but it’s more than just their complicated pasts that are holding them back.

In “Lexington,” the two seek a co-op reward to find a racehorse, and after a lot of danger, a little danger, and a near-kiss, they part ways. But they do so with hints of their future. He eventually admits that working with her was fun and that he wouldn’t cheat on her in the end. She insists that she’s thought about it, then excuses herself from dinner with him because she says she’s running late for work.

But why did she actually turn down that dinner? TV Insider spoke to Pernas about that and more.

Sofia Pernas: Oh, that was a lot of fun. It was great. Obviously our stunt doubles were doing their best and making it look easy, but it was great to see characters like that in life-threatening situations and then see how that tension plays into the next scene because you’re playing like you’ve just run from a burning warehouse and you don’t think you’re going to survive. Of course, Colter, with his observational skills and the way he knows the structure and how things work—whereas Billie probably hasn’t spent a lot of time in or around warehouses—was able to say, “Oh, no, maybe there’s a trapdoor in the attic that we can jump out of.” And in that moment, we have to trust each other because we either trust each other or we die. And those moments that are created out of trauma or, like I said, life-threatening situations are what I find so interesting in how the characters progress in their relationships on the show.
