Where Do 1000-lb Sisters Amy And Tammy Slaton Really Live?

1000-lb Sisters follows Amy and Tammy Slaton on their weight-loss journey as well as how and where they live.

After losing such a significant amount of weight, one of the things Tammy is most looking forward to is finally having her skin removal surgery. In order to be approved for the operation, individuals often have to lose a large amount of weight and then prove to their medical professional that they can keep the weight off for a certain period of time. This ensures that they’re committed to their physical transformation, for if they have the surgery and then begin to put on weight again, it can cause major health issues.

In the comments of the trailer, fans expressed their support of Tammy getting the surgery that she so desires. “For crying out loud, give Tammy her skin removal surgery already!! She’s done her part in her weight loss journey and has suffered enough,” wrote one viewer. “With or without skin surgery that girl is getting it done.. I was so happy to see her zip lining.. like wow! Good for her” wrote another.

Fans of the show may be the most curious about whether Amy’s run-in with the law will be included in the new batch of episodes. Back in 2024, Amy was at an outing at the Tennessee Zoo with her family when she was accidentally bitten by a camel while in her car. (The incident with the camel is captured in the trailer.)

Afterward, the Sheriff’s Department came up to Amy in her car and wound up searching it when they smelled suspicious odors coming from the vehicle. The incident that started with a wild animal concluded having nothing to do with the camel at all; in the end, the officers found illegal substances in her car and she and Brian Scott Lovvorn were arrested for child endangerment. As reported by Parade, Amy and Scott eventually pleaded guilty to the charges in court, and both of them were sentenced to two years of supervised probation by the judge.

Considering that the camel scene is featured in the trailer, it makes sense that the events that followed it would also be included in the new season. For her part, Amy seems more than willing to talk about the incident. In the trailer, she even jokes that she herself shouldn’t have been the focus of the officers in the moment. “They should be handcuffing the damn camel,” she jokes.

It seems like fans are split in terms of their opinions of Amy and Tammy. While many viewers appear to look very favorably upon Tammy, congratulating her for her weight loss and the dedication she’s shown on her journey, the same cannot be said for the way that they look at Amy. Instead, many criticize her for her choice in partner and her choice in parenting techniques.

One user was vocal about how they thought that, based on her behavior, Amy shouldn’t have another child. Still another drew a comparison between the two sisters:

Who would have thought at the beginning that Amy would wind up being even more of a trainwreck than Tammy? Not me!

At least one fan was able to find the humor in the situation. “I should NOT BE LAUGHING about Amy getting bitten by a camel BUT I didn’t think they would show it happen in the flesh NO PUN INTENDED,” they commented, followed by the crying laughing emoji.

Longtime fans of the show thankfully don’t have to wait much longer to see Amy and Tammy back on their screens. As the video’s caption notes, we’re in for a drama-filled season: “Tammy Slaton continues her health journey as Amy Halterman finds herself in court on the new season of 1,000-Lb Sisters, airing Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on TLC starting April 15.”
