Emmerdale fans are unhappy with the soap’s latest heartbreaking storyline and have accused it of ‘ripping off’ sister soap Coronation Street.
Keen followers of the iconic soap opera will be up to date with the plotline that involves Ella Forster (Paula Lane) and her shock pregnancy.
The complex character first arrived at the village earlier this year and was harbouring a huge secret about her past.
It was later revealed that she was previously known as Ruth and had actually committed murder at the age of 11, leading her to spend time in prison before relocating around Britain.
As she made the move to the Yorkshire Dales, the character got into a relationship with GP Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson), but kept her complicated history a secret.

A recent Corrie storyline saw Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) be under the impression she was pregnant, before finding out she instead tragically had ovarian cancer
Once Liam found out, he broke things off with her as it was too much for him, particularly after his own daughter Leanna (Mimi Slinger) was murdered.
The revelation coming to light saw Ella leave her life in Emmerdale behind back in June, but she has recently graced our screens once again following a car accident.
However, a jaw-dropping twist revealed that Ella was pregnant with Liam’s baby, with her breaking the news to her friend Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley).
Things took another distressing turn when the character received the upsetting news that she wasn’t actually pregnant during Tuesday’s episode of the soap opera.
Troubling scenes saw the character be informed she had an anembryonic pregnancy, which is also known as a blighted ovum or silent miscarriage.
While some fans were gripped by the storyline, others were unimpressed as they made comparisons to plot points in rival programmes Coronation Street and EastEnders.
EastEnders saw Natalie Cassidy’s character, Sonia Fowler, find out that she had suffered a blighted ovum, following a round of IVF and initial struggles to conceive.

Viewers on X (formerly Twitter), sparked conversation by quipping:
‘They’re doing a Toyah to Ella #Emmerdale.’
‘Can these soap writers not come up with any original ideas? First Sonia in #Eastenders has a blighted ovum. Now Ella in #Emmerdale has had a blighted ovum.’
In a Reddit thread, another user remarked: ‘Character is pregnant but when they go to hospital there is no baby, seems a familiar storyline for some reason Toyah Corrie.’
‘So, (spoiler) Toyah in #corrie and Ella in #Emmerdale have the same storyline.’
‘Ella like toyah on #corrie she thought she was prego as well #emmerdale.’
‘Damn #Cancer Toyah #Corrie #Emmerdale Ella and both running same time.’
‘If Ella isn’t pregnant is this going to be a cancer storyline like Toyahs #Emmerdale.’

Meanwhile, a more lighthearted conversation also took place on social media following Tuesday’s dramatic episode of the soap.
Caleb Milligan (William Ash) and his wife Ruby Fox-Milligan (Beth Cordingly) had headed to The Woolpack for a quiet meal after receiving the bad news that a fire had broken out at his car dealership while he was away on holiday.
But as the pair mulled over who could have been behind the suspected arson attack, viewers attention was caught by something else entirely – the food on Caleb’s plate.
The character was chowing down on what looked like an entire chicken, presented on a chopping board.
Finding the strange detail amusing, fans took to X to confirm that they weren’t the only ones who noticed it, hilariously writing:
‘Caleb ordering a full chicken to himself #Emmerdale.’
‘That was a s*** episode except for Caleb’s chicken #emmerdale.’
‘Is Caleb eating a whole chicken? #Emmerdale.’
‘I hope the “Caleb eats whole chicken for lunch” scenes win something at the National Soap Awards – best storyline @emmerdale has done in ages! Burger tomorrow…?!’
‘Was Caleb eating a chicken, a full chicken #Emmerdale.’
‘So The Woolpack must be doing alright if they can afford to dish up whole chickens as an actual dish for one #emmerdale.’
