Emmerdale ‘confirms’ identity of villager framing Ella – but it’s not John

Emmerdale fans are certain they know who really drugged Chas Dingle in an attempt to set up Ella Forster – but it’s not John Sugden.

Chas (Lucy Pargeter) ended up being rushed to hospital last week after collapsing in the Woolpack. As viewers will recall, she was injured during the fatal limo crash in February.

Since then, she has been taking codeine after suffering from back pain following the crash. But things took a dramatic turn last week when she was found unconscious in The Woolpack.

John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) quickly arrived and called an ambulance. At the hospital though, doctors shared their concern that Chas had overdosed.

Fiancé Dr Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) immediately pointed his finger at his ex-girlfriend Ella (Paula Lane) who denied messing with the medication. She was later arrested, and then released pending further investigation.

After Chas tried to bargain with Ella to get her to leave the Dales, Ella was certain that it was in fact Chas who was drugging herself, in a bid to frame Ella and get rid of her.

And during Tuesday’s episode (March 25) Ella was hell-bent on proving her innocence and implored Liam to listen as she tried to persuade him that Chas likely has an addiction to painkillers.

Things then went from bad to worse for Ella, as Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) demanded that she move out amid the accusations. Ella then snapped and exposed Manpreet’s recent racy side hustle in front of all the villagers.

But despite viewers thinking John Sugden is the one behind it all, some fans believe Ella is telling the truth and Chas is stitching her up.

On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one person wrote: “I don’t think Ella did it.” Rushing to the comments section, someone else mused: “I think it was Chas herself and she wants rid of Ella so perfect way to do it.”

A third agreed: “Yep I agree Chas.” Another viewer then chimed in: “I said that last week, something doesn’t seem right.”
