Emmerdale: Lucy Pargeter talks Chas dealing with Ella

Emmerdale fans are convinced they’ve pieced together the mystery of who drugged Chas Dingle in a shocking plot twist, and it’s not Ella Forster.

Chas was prescribed painkillers after injuring her back in last month’s devastating limo accident. Earlier this week, she revealed she was still in discomfort after Ella accidentally bumped into her at her engagement party at The Woolpack.

This led to an outcry of pain from Chas, who accused Ella of intentionally causing harm due to their tumultuous past. Viewers may remember that Liam Cavanagh ended his relationship with Ella last year after realising his heart belonged to Chas.

During Wednesday’s (March 19) visit to the village, Chas was seen taking more medication for her pain, despite Liam’s advice to rest if she wasn’t feeling well. Ignoring his counsel, Chas collapsed and hit her head while setting up the pub.

John Sugden swiftly called for medical help, with doctors later disclosing that Chas had overdosed.

In Thursday’s (March 20) hour-long episode, Liam immediately pointed the finger at Ella after she showed up at the engagement party.

Victoria confirmed seeing Ella at the back of the pub, leading Liam to suspect that she had replaced Chas’s medication with something stronger. Upon confronting Ella, he discovered Chas’s engagement ring in her bag and promptly reported the GP receptionist to the police, reports Leeds Live.

Despite being arrested, Ella maintained her innocence, denying any involvement in drugging Chas.

In a dramatic twist, Chas later issued an ultimatum to her love rival, Ella, threatening to go to the police unless she left the village for good.

“I want a peaceful life, and that means you leaving… You either walk away or you get dragged off to prison. Your choice,” Chas fiercely warned.

After Chas walked away , Ella confided in Manpreet her suspicion that Chas had become too reliant on her medication and might have overdosed herself, before pinning it on Ella to manipulate Liam.

“If I thought someone had spiked me and put me in hospital, I wouldn’t be talking deals with them. There’s only one reason she’d be asking the police to drop the case, and that’s to cover her own tracks,” Ella speculated.

“She’s wanted me out of the picture for months. This is perfect for her. I can see right through it. Liam deserves better and I’m gonna make damn sure he realises. I am gonna make sure everyone sees Chas Dingle for who she really is.”

While some Emmerdale fans suspect Ella may be responsible for the overdose, others are theorising on social media that someone else could be setting her up.
