An Emmerdale legend could be heading back to the Dales to expose Dawn Taylor’s affair, according to fans.
Dawn (Olivia Bromley) shocked fans earlier this year when she started an affair with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous). At the time, she was grieving the loss of her dad Will (Dean Andrews) who died at Christmas.
Needing to find an escape, she ended up cheating on her husband Billy (Jay Kontzle) by sleeping with Joe – and despite insisting it was a one-off, the pair have continued their romance.
Joe’s step-grandmother Kim Tate (Claire King) meanwhile, shared her suspicions over Joe. And in typical Tate fashion, she eventually found out all about Joe and Dawn’s affair.
However, despite Kim warning both Joe and Dawn to end things, the pair have continued to see each other. Last week though, things took a seriously dramatic turn for Joe.
As fans will recall, Joe is battling chronic kidney disease and faced a grim prognosis without a transplant. In cahoots with dodgy Dr Crowley (James Hillier), Joe targeted his blood relative, uncle Caleb (William Ash) and stole his kidney.
And in Monday’s episode (March 31), with the police getting suspicious, Joe left the Dales to head back to Dubai – and as a result, ended things with Dawn for good.
And now, despite Joe and Dawn’s affair ending, fans reckon someone is going to expose what Dawn has been getting up to – and they reckon it will be a ‘returning’ icon that will do it.
Sharing their thoughts on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one person penned: “Dawn is really annoying me now! What have they done to the character.”
In the comments section, fans claimed Debbie Dingle could make a comeback to bring down Dawn. A second fan said. “I really hope someone exposes her! I’d love someone like Debbie to come back.”
A third agreed: “Catfight in the dales! That would be epic.” Another fan wrote: “A Debbie return is looming I’ve said for ages…”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
