CASUALTY viewers have been left stunned after finally learning the identity of the hospital whistleblower.
Recent episodes have seen the fictional Holby City hospital hit with a scandal, after a documentary revealed failings within the ED.
Shockingly, the documentary included footage provided by a staff member, who remained anonymous.
Since then, both Casualty fans and the team itself have been intrigued as to who the anonymous whistleblower was.
The latest episode, which aired on Saturday, finally uncovered their identity, leaving some viewers shocked in the process.
Clinical lead Patrick (played by Jamie Glover) continued to obsess over figuring out which staff member participated in the documentary.
He was forwarded an email which showed Rash (Neet Mohan) had raised several concerns about the running of the department to HR.
In his correspondence, Rash wrote about how the only way to change the current system was with “aggressive, direct action.”
Armed with this information, Patrick approached Rash and accused him of being the whistleblower, which Rash denied.
In the meantime, the team treated mother and daughter patients Nusraat and Halima, who had been attacked by Nusraat’s brother from whom they were trying to escape.

Rida (Sarah Seggari) realised the pair had been at the hospital several weeks before and were featured in the TV documentary, which was likely how Nusraat’s brother had found them.
Later on, a tearful Rida watched back the footage on the phone and in the episode’s final moments, she cried by Nusraat’s bedside, admitting she was, in fact, the whistleblower.
The revelation of the whistleblower’s identity took BBC viewers by surprise.
