BBC’s stalwart medical series Casualty delivered a heartfelt punch as nurse Jacob Masters, played by Charles Venn, encountered an emotional family twist when he finally uncovered the location of his long-lost son.

Jacob has been on a tumultuous journey to track down his elusive son while juggling the responsibilities of bringing up his grandchild after Blake disappeared. His colleague and housemate, Jan Jenning, portrayed by Di Boucher, hasn’t shied away from voicing her concerns over Jacob’s dogged quest which has put his job at risk.

The plot focusing on Jacob’s hunt for his son has been pulling at viewers’ heartstrings, sparking widespread conjecture concerning Blake’s mother Elle’s whereabouts, played by Jaye Griffiths. Fans have been curious about Elle’s notable absence, especially given that Jacob and Blake only connected in Blake’s teens due to her secret pregnancy.

A viewer took to Twitter to express their thoughts, saying: “Jacob is pushing Jan to her limit lately. He’ll be lucky to still have a job as a paramedic by the end of this series the way he is going #Casualty.”

In the latest dramatic episode, Jacob was tipped off about where his son might be. In a desperate race to the site, he initially found nothing until Blake was spotted near the centre, prompting a heart-pounding chase.

After an emotional plea, Jacob convinced his boy to return home with him, promising to always be there for him, which led to Blake agreeing to stay with his dad.

 

But the situation turned awkward real quick as Jacob hadn’t given Jan, his current housemate, the heads up that Blake would be bunking with them.
