There’s a familiar face set to pop up in Coronation Street next week, as Joel Deering’s (Calum Lill) exit storyline gathers pace.
Casualty and Brassic star Nick Harris will appear as Mal Walcott, a former boss of the sinister solicitor.

He is introduced in scenes to air next week, as Joel’s former fiancée Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) tracks down the firm her evil ex used to work at.
Spoilers for the episodes have revealed that the firm specialises in helping vulnerable young people – but what will Dee-Dee uncover?
Posting about his guest role online, Nick wrote: “I’ll be making my debut in Weatherfield next Monday as Mal Walcott in @itvcorrie and return later in September. #corrie.”
Nick is known for his role as Graham in Sky sitcom Brassic, which stars former Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan, and appeared in last week’s episode of Casualty as Lennie Parkes.
His other credits include Doctors, Grace, Call The Midwife and Gentleman Jack.
It is set to be a big few weeks for Coronation Street, as Dee-Dee, DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) and Lauren Bolton (Cait Fitton) try to bring Joel to justice, ahead of actor Calum Lill’s exit from the ITV soap.
With smart and manipulative Joel fully aware of what’s going on though, he is set to try and plot an escape from his crimes.
He’s certain he can get away with abusing Lauren and other vulnerable young girls, but will Dee-Dee and Lisa nail him in time? Or will Joel leave without facing the consequences?
