Casualty has revealed the identity of the hospital whistleblower in the show’s latest episode.
In recent weeks, Holby has been hit by scandal after a Panorama-style documentary was released about the ED, with an anonymous staff member providing footage that exposed the failings of the department.
Both the team and Casualty viewers have been intrigued as to who the whistleblower is, with a number of theories floating around, but their identity has now been revealed in a shocking twist.

In Saturday’s episode, which is already available to watch on BBC iPlayer, clinical lead Patrick continued to obsess over which staff member took part in the documentary.
He was forwarded an email that showed Rash had raised a number of concerns about the running of the department with HR, where he wrote that the only way to affect change in the current system was with “aggressive, direct action”.
Patrick approached Rash with this information and accused him of being the whistleblower, which Rash denied in a dramatic argument.

Meanwhile, the team treated patients Nusraat and her daughter Halima; they were attacked by Nusraat’s brother, whom they were trying to escape.
Rida realised that the mother and daughter were at the hospital several weeks before, and had featured in the TV documentary, which is presumably how Nusraat’s brother found them.
Later, Rida watched back the footage on her phone in tears, and then the final minutes of the episode saw her crying by Nusraat’s bedside – admitting that she was in fact the whistleblower.

“I thought I was helping,” she said. “I was just trying to show the world what’s happening here. The truth. And then you brought your beautiful daughter here, and if I’d even begun to realise what sending that footage would do… I didn’t think. I’m so sorry. He found you because of me.”
While viewers now know the identity of the whistleblower, the ED team are still in the dark. With Patrick’s sights set firmly on Rash, it looks like Rida’s secret is safe for now. But how long will it stay that way?
