BBC Casualty issues update to fans as drama moved in schedule shake up

The team behind hit drama Casualty has posted an important last-minute reminder to fans about the latest episode, which is due to be aired on Saturday, August 3.

The long-running hospital drama is usually broadcast on BBC One during prime time but the new episode will be moved to a different slot and an update has now been posted on Casualty’s official Instagram account so fans don’t forget and miss the latest drama.

The post states that the instalment will be broadcast on BBC Two at 8.10pm as BBC One drops its usual Saturday night scheduling to make way for coverage of the Olympics in Paris.

Many fans rushed to say they were eagerly looking forward to the show, simply posting “Can’t wait!” The overall summary for the season 38, as published by the Radio Times, reads: “During the season, Teddy seeks advice from Gethin, Max play a dangerous game as Donna’s sentencing looms, and Jodie goes in search of Max’s kidney donor as his health fails.”

Casualty made its debut in 1986 and has become a staple of Saturday night telly, leading to the spin-off, Holby City, being launched in 1999.

Filmed mainly in and around Wales, it tells the story of the staff and patients at the fictional Holby City Hospital’s emergency department. Many big names have appeared in the soap over the years and among the latest cast members are Barney Walsh who plays Nurse Cameron Mickelthwaite.

It was recently revealed that in upcoming scenes, the BBC One soap will reveal and explore the impact of the sexual abuse Nurse Cameron experienced as a teenager.
