The OG 90 Day Fiancé is back with almost a whole new crew, but I’m already noticing some similarities that have me begging the stars’ in-laws to reconsider their involvement in K1 visas. 90 Day Fiancé Season 11 newcomer Greg Chillak is 35 years old and lives at home with his mom, Lucille, in Long Island. He’s been engaged to his fiancé, Joan Kruchov, since 2023. Joan is now 27 and has flown from Uganda to marry Greg.
The couple hadn’t had much screen time, especially since the season had just begun. However, I’m already noticing some major red flags. These red flags are especially evident when it comes to his connection with his mom and his lack of responsibilities. Overall, Greg is starting to remind me of another former 90 Day Fiancé franchise star, and I’m not sure why his mom or Joan, for that matter, are interested in entertaining his manchild antics.
’90 Day Fiancé’s Greg Has Major Financial Issues

One of the biggest concerns I have about Gregory and his storyline is his finances or lack thereof, rather. Greg has no job. In fact, the 90 Day Fiancé star allegedly turned down a state job so he could provide physical support and comfort to his fiancé, Joan. According to Lucille, Greg doesn’t pay rent and contributes mostly by providing food for the house. Yet, despite having only a few real concerns to worry about, Greg claims he’s broke. His fianceé would love to move out of his mother’s home and be more independent.

Josh called Jasmine a master puppeteer, but he’s one too.
However, in his confessional he revealed that while it was possible, it’d drain his savings faster than he prepared for. Overall, I think Greg’s behavior regarding finances and jobs is a good indication of how immature he can be. Especially since Greg doesn’t seem to be prioritizing his relationship before his personal comfort. On top of this, his actions reveal just how incompatible the two may be. Joan created a career for herself as a director for a nonprofit organization, meanwhile Greg is still living at home hoping his mom will help pave the way to their wedding.
’90 Day Fiancé’s Greg Has No Real Plan
Aside from his finances, Greg seems to have another major problem: he has no real plan and a nonchalant attitude about it. As noted, the reality star doesn’t intend to get a job or move out anytime soon. However, his finances and moving out only seem to be the tip of the iceberg, as he also seems not to care about any of the concerns raised by Joan or his mother. Most of his confessionals and conversations with his mom end with a sheepish smile, a shrug, and some sort of variation of “eh, let’s see what happens.” Additionally, he’s the go-between for his mom and fiancé, but avoids being direct and transparent with both of them.
I understand it’s still very early in the season, but I can’t help but notice some major resemblances to another franchise mama’s boy: Colt Johnson. Overall, while I do enjoy a good “go with the flow” moment, I’m not sure immigrating to America is the best time to be whimsical with decision-making. Additionally, I’m not sure the couple planned the best. If Joan had a career and reputation established in Uganda, then why wouldn’t they reconsider their living arrangements as other stars have done in the past? Additionally, if Greg doesn’t have a stable job or the finances to support them, this also probably means he doesn’t have the income to pay for their wedding.
In the end, Greg’s mom needs to step in, but differently than she already is. Similar to Debbie Johnson, Lucille seems to be around often and willing to help her son when she can. She also seems to have strict rules regarding water and electrical usage. But other than that, she seems to be coddling Greg, which is doing more harm. He’s not being accountable for his actions nor is he acting maturely and Lucille might be enabling him. Overall, if Greg wants to get married, he should be ready to provide and support his family on his own and not rely on his mother so extensively. 90 Day Fiancé is available to stream on Max in the U.S.
