“Dispatch, we have a situation.” That’s an understatement. The newly released first trailer for Season 5 of 9-1-1: Lone Star suggests an intense and dramatic season ahead for Austin’s 126, led by Captain Owen Strand, portrayed by Rob Lowe. The season premieres on September 23 on Fox, with episodes available the next day on Hulu.
In Season 5, Captains Owen Strand (Lowe) and Tommy Vega (Gina Torres) are thrust into action following a catastrophic train derailment that puts multiple lives, including those of their own team, in jeopardy. With Judd Ryder (Jim Parrack) stepping down from the 126 to care for his newly handicapped son, Wyatt (Jackson Pace), Owen faces a tough decision in choosing a new lieutenant. Both Marjan Marwani (Natacha Karam) and Paul Strickland (Brian Michael Smith) are vying for the promotion, adding tension to the team dynamics. Meanwhile, Tommy faces her own challenges in taking the next step in her relationship, only to find her path to happiness fraught with unexpected obstacles.
As T.K. (Ronen Rubinstein) celebrates his 30th birthday, a surprise visitor from his past threatens to turn his and Carlos’ (Rafael Silva) lives upside down. Now officially married, T.K. and Carlos face a rocky road ahead when Carlos becomes obsessed with solving his father’s murder, testing the strength of their relationship like never before.
9-1-1: Lone Star centers on the brave members of Austin’s 126 Fire Department, led by Captain Owen Strand, who, alongside his son T.K., relocated to Texas to rebuild the station following a tragic event. The team of diverse and highly skilled first responders includes Paramedic Captain Tommy Vega (Torres), Judd Ryder (Parrack), who survived the original 126 house tragedy; Marjan Marwani (Karam), a fearless firefighter and devout Muslim; Paul Strickland (Smith), a transgender firefighter with a Sherlock Holmes-like gift for observation; and rookie firefighter Mateo Chavez (Julian Works). Under Tommy’s guidance, T.K. transitioned from firefighter to full-time paramedic, working closely with fellow paramedic Nancy Gillian (Brianna Baker).
Produced by 20th Television in collaboration with Ryan Murphy Television and Brad Falchuk Teley-Vision, 9-1-1: Lone Star is helmed by series creators and executive producers Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear. The production team also includes Bradley Buecker, who directed the series premiere, alongside executive producers Alexis Martin Woodall, Rashad Raisani, John J. Gray, Angela Bassett, Rob Lowe, Carly Soteras, and Wolfe Coleman.
